Influence from the Sky in the Year of the Yin Water Rabbit 2023

Since the beginning of civilization the Chinese have used the stars, the planets, the Moon and the Sun as an important tool to plan their farming, their placement of palaces and buildings, their graves especially for their Emperors because they believed that the correct timing and direction of placement could determine the fortune of a person and even an empire.

Through thousands of years of observation of the sky by the imperial astronomers and astrologers, they found a correlation between events on earth and the movements in the sky of the stars, the planets, the Moon and the Sun. They found that any extraordinary movement in the heavens could trigger unusual events on earth and hence Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui were developed. Both of these Arts are part of the 5 Arts of Chinese Metaphysics which are all used to promote well-being. They all use the same principles of the theories of Yin and Yang and the Phases of the Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Each of these elements has many representations and interpretations, amongst them are the seasons.

The Chinese followed the Solar Calendar before they invented the lunar calendar which follows the Moon phase. Nowadays the Chinese calendar is a lunisolar calendar as it has both the solar and lunar movements. The Calendar that is used for the calculation of all Chinese Zodiac animals and Feng Shui energies is the solar calendar which follows the orbiting of Earth around the Sun.

Although the Chinese Lunar New Year will start on Sunday 22nd January 2023, the Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology Year of the Black Rabbit do not start till Saturday, 4th February 2023 precisely at 10:42 a.m. Those born prior to this date will still be classified as born in the Year of the Yang Water Tiger.

All of us will be influenced by 3 types of energies.

  1. Our Destiny Astrological chart will affect up 40% of our luck
  2. Our Home and work surroundings which is the Feng Shui energies will affect another 30% of our luck
  3. Our decision and actions will be the final percentage

In this blog, the Feng Shui Energies for the Year will be introduced and these will have the potential to affect us if we spend more than 2-3 hours in the area.

Here is the Feng Shui map of the Year:

The most important areas to be aware of that are challenging and may need to be remedied are the EAST, the WEST and the NORTH WEST sectors.

If your main door is in these areas, do not do any major renovations, digging or knocking walls in the exterior and the interior, as triggering it may have the potential repercussions resulting in set-backs in health and wealth. The North West has very inauspicious energies and activating the area may result in bad accidents and pretty bad luck. If it is necessary for any work to be done, then selecting a special day and location for it to begin is advisable.

If you are sleeping in a North West room, place a salt water cure in one of the corners so that it does not get knocked over.

Salt water cure instructions: in a glass or ceramic bowl, place 1 cup of pure rock sea salt. Place 6 coins on top of this salt and add water to cover the coins. Place it on a plate. Leave it in a quiet place untouched. Replace water when dry but try not to touch it as it contains negative energy. The salt will crystallize but do not try to flake it off. Discard and replace the entire item every 3 months, if possible on the time of the Equinoxes and Solstices and or New Year. Do not use your fine china or crystal ware as the whole item must be discarded every 3 months.

If you find this not practical then place metal weights of up to 20kg in the sector for the duration of the year to deplete the energy. You may use a massive round gold ornament in the location.

If your entrance or bedroom is in the East sector be prepared for tension resulting in arguments and fights. To deplete this, place a large red rug or painting.

For the North East, be prepared for gossiping, backstabbing and violent fighting, place a bowl of still water or a large black rug to deplete this energy.

If you have your main door coming from the South or the North then be prepared for great tidings as these sectors bring wealth opportunities and good successful news. If these areas are blocked you may want to try to unblock them from the help of a Feng Shui consultant, as otherwise wealth opportunities may not come easily and you will have to work extra hard for your money.

If you have a child that needs to improve on their studies then place them in the South West sector.

If you need have recently come out of surgery or ill-health and you want to have some health in healing, this year the West is a good area to spend time in.

The North is an important area that you should have a door or window for good auspicious energy to come into your house for the next 20 years.

The above is just basic information for the Year as these energies influence your home’s energies differently depending on the Natal chart of your site.

I’ll be following up with a newsletter on how the Water Rabbit will impact each of the Chinese Zodiac Animals in the next weeks.
